台北市立動物園今天表示，5月30日出生的馬來貘「貘樹」快3個月大，「貘樹」身上咖啡色的花紋也快速變淡；「貘樹」游泳時，常被遊客當作河馬，如果牠在岸上活動，則因略長的鼻子被誤認為食蟻獸。

動物園指出，馬來貘和犀牛、馬在演化上親近，都是奇蹄目的草食動物，但馬來貘是3者中最喜歡水的動物，動物園也為馬來貘準備游泳的水域環境。

動物園表示，馬來貘喜歡在水中排便，正好提供浮萍養分，夏天陽光充足、浮萍繁殖快速，整條護城河長滿綠色浮萍。
