26日，所屬經紀公司方面宣佈「演員朱相昱確定出演SBS新週末電視劇《美女的誕生》，預告了浪漫喜劇王的歸還」。

《美女的誕生》講述了因整形和減肥，迎來了人生的轉捩點的女人，和重塑這個女人的男人間的愛情故事。朱相昱飾演在受到心理衝擊後，患上了心病「傷心綜合症」的SJ集團的繼承人韓泰熙（音譯）一角。

劇中，韓泰熙擁有不分水火的活火山般的性格，為了找回自己心愛的女人，把肥胖的女人打造成了一個美麗的女人。
