台語歌天后江蕙元旦宣佈，將於今年退出歌壇，震撼各界。接下來，死忠歌迷漏夜排隊搶購告別演唱會門票，但是票少人多，險釀成暴動。黃牛票在網路上已經喊到10萬元，但是「黃牛票」的英文可不是yellow cow ticket，請先看這句英語媒體報導的「江蕙事件」：

Tickets for Jody Chiang's farewell concerts are already being offered online by scalpers.（賣黃牛票的人已正在網路上提供江蕙告別演唱會的門票。）

●scalper [ˋskælpɚ] (n.) 做投機生意之人；黃牛票業者

「賣黃牛票」的動作是scalp，讀作[skælp]，而賣黃牛票的人是加了字尾「-er」的scalper，可與yellow cow一點關係也沒有。至於黃牛票，則是scalper tickets。媒體上關於江蕙演唱會黃牛票的報導：Scalpers are demanding 10 times the face value of the cheapest tickets.（賣黃牛票的人要價10倍於最便宜票的面值。）

至於粉絲搶購門票的新聞則如下：

Fans with number cards and those without shouted at each other and tried to force their way into the promoter's office.（有號碼牌與沒有號碼牌的粉絲彼此咆哮，並且企圖強行衝入售票公司辦公室。）

江蕙的「告別演唱會」與「死忠粉絲」，英文的說法是farewell concert與diehard fans，媒體報導如下：

Tickets for Chiang's farewell concerts is going on sale, and diehard fans are camping out to snatch up their last chance to see the 53-year-old live.（江蕙告別演唱會的門票正在販售；死忠粉絲正在搭帳篷排隊買票，以抓住現場觀賞這位53歲天后的最後機會。）

「告別演唱會」是farewell concert，這farewell可是多益測驗的核心字彙，意思是goodbye──再會、再見的意思。

farewell這個字源於「Fare well !」的說法，fare在古英文裡是「旅行」，加上well是古代西方祝人旅途一路平安之意。既知farewell是「再會、告別」，在國際職場上則是常見辦公室裡為離職同事舉辦farewell party或farewell reception，也就是所謂的「惜別會」、「歡送會」。而公眾人物的「告別演說」是farewell speech。
